Pour the tequila into a shot glass and then add the 7-Up. Place your hand over the shot glass and slam down on the counter or table. This will make it fizz. Shoot it back. In Mexico, they have you do the shooter and then the server shakes your head while blowing a whistle. It has quite the effect!
